Just one year after the release of their current album “Maschinenhafen”, the doom trio ORT will release their new (mini) album “Sperrwerk” at the end of February.
As a foretaste, ORT is releasing the single “Heuvel / Bodden”, or the shortened version “Heuvel”, including a music video that will be premiered via German Visions & Rock Hard Magazines as well as UK´s ine and only Sleeping Shaman.
ORT's main contributor is Dortmund guitarist Hellmut Neidhart, who is also active as the drone solo artist N. Monotonous, atmospherically dense areas of drone and noise metal make up the band's style, with their compositions reaching astonishing lengths - the approximately 40-minute “Maschinenhafen”, for example, consists of just two tracks.
“Heuvel” doesn't come close to that mark, but the music video is as cryptic as the band's overall presence. The characters mostly stand in flickering darkness, in which fire, blood and death flash like scenes from the past. The hectic editing contrasts with the slowly building music. A deep, dark mood replaces a stringent plot – it is on this level that the music begins to have an effect.
